Congratulations to George on completing his PADI Divemaster, Tec 40, Tec45 and Wreck Diver Courses
George a professional skipper and game fisherman from Kenya has a keen interest, like me, in deep diving. Arriving a little over 3 weeks ago he was keen to gain his entry level professional Divemaster rating along with beginning his journey into more advanced technical diving.
We were able to schedule both his Technical and Divemaster training at the same time to allowing George to get where he wanted to be, in the short time period. George was sometimes both working towards his Divemaster course while gaining technical dive experience; such as completing his continuing education assist (Deep Diver Specialty) in twin tanks.
After making the transition from recreational to technical diving with the PADI Tec 40 course, George was hooked and wanted to further his dive opportunities with the PADI Tec 45 course. The PADI Tec 45 course allows a diver to use any mixture of Nitrox or Oxygen to complete accelerated decompression. This in contrast to the Tec 40 course where only 10 minutes of no accelerated decompression is allowed. The bottom line been; after completing the Tec 45 course you are mainly limited by the amount of Back Gas and Decompression Gas you are carrying instead of the 10 minute limit imposed on the Tec 40 course = more time at depth.

After completing his Dive Master, Tec 40 and Tec 45 course and finding out it was a perquisite for a planed live aboard trip later in the year, George enrolled on the PADI Wreck diver course. Giving us the chance to explore some of the local wreck such as the MV Trident and the HTMS Sattakut. We also conducted the PADI Wreck course in full technical dive gear (standard equipment in more advanced wreck diving course) to gain further experience and to benefit from the redundancy of the equipment.
George future plans include setting up a dive shop himself, with no doubt some technical diving activates going on. Hope you enjoyed your time here at simple life and will be back soon for a few more dives…..
