Congratulations to Kim on completing his PADI Enriched Air diver course, which he decided to combine with his Deep diver specialty course. Enriched Air and Deep diver have always been popular PADI dive courses. The two courses also go well together as breathing Nitrox which contains higher percentage of Oxygen than the normal Air allows a diver to stay a depth longer and/or reduces the amount of time needed spent ‘out of the water’ to return back to depth on a repetitive dive.
They are ideal courses for divers who are;
- planning to enlist onto a live aboard dive boat (where five dives a day are common place),
- to be used as a stepping stone into the world of technical diving or for people that just interested in diving longer or a bit deeper.
Kim opted for PADI’s new version of the PADI Enriched Air Diver Course, which we now offer at Simple Life Divers >> “Enriched Diving with Computers”.
This new enriched air nitrox course does away with the ‘dated’ dive tables and focuses on Dive Computer use with nitrox, ideal for people who own a dive computer, or thinking about buying one. After all it makes sense. Getting a double benefit of extended bottom time by using nitrox and also extended bottom time by using a Dive Computer.
Upon certification PADI Deep Diver Specialty divers are certified to dive within no-decompression limits to a maximum depth of 40 meters. PADI Enriched Air Specialty divers are certified to use mixtures of Nitrox up to 40% Oxygen and are able to obtain such mixtures of gases from dive shops using their PADI certification card. Combined these two qualification greatly increase the scope of your dive planning and will enable you to undertake some serious dives.
Well Done Kim, it was enjoyable to take someone a little ‘deeper’ into dive theory and dive the Koh Tao diving sites to their limits.
