Sisters Natalie & Lyndsay, joined by Charles finished off their PADI Open Water certification today here at Simple Life Divers. For this 4 day PADI course Koh Tao has had fantastic weather and dive conditions.

Teaching this PADI Open Water course has been a lot of fun. Not only have we enjoyed cracking sunshine, but for dive three of the PADI Dive Course we got to dive with a whale shark! The group picked up diving skills and buoyancy control quickly. In fact, the most taxing part of this PADI course for everyone was dealing with the heat (and possible a slightly groggy head the morning after we celebrated completing the PADI course!).
For the final two dives of the course, French underwater videographer Cecile joined us to catch our open water dives three and four on film, which we greatly enjoyed watching that same evening with a few cold beers. 😛
Congratulations each, and hope you carry on your scuba diving adventures!
Finally it looks like the Bangkok unrest is behind us for now. We didn’t have any problems here on Koh Tao, but understandably people have been deterred from visiting Thailand for the past few weeks so it’s been a little quieter than normal. Now it looks like all is back to normal in the capital and the cleanup is underway. Anyhow down here on Koh Tao the diving conditions couldn’t be better so if you are traveling through Thailand come and see us for a few fun dives or your PADI course – you won’t regret it! Hopefully more whale sharks to come….
