Well done to Lee and Luke for passing their Koh Tao PADI Open Water course today.
The lads from England booked online to secure there place for the 4 day Padi course. They arrived off the boat and were greeted at Koh Tao’s main pier by our happy local taxi man EK (and his fluorescent pink Simple Life Divers T shirt) and taken to our dive shop.

The guys arrived midday and were straight away checked into their room and after a nice rest the team were ready to start their open water Koh Tao course. They had an easy start that afternoon with a 2 hour orientation to the PADI dive course and a little bit of scuba diving theory to whet their appetites. The following day we resumed in the morning with a bit more academic work and after a relaxing lunch break we headed out via our long tail to the dive boat for the confined water part of the course.
In this shallow water session the guys were put through their paces getting used to breathing underwater using scuba gear. We practiced lots of skills including mask clearing, regulator clearing, using an emergency air source and working on controlling your breathing to adjust your buoyancy. The guys sailed through all the scuba skills and were easily ready for their four open water Koh Tao dives.
On day 3 of the PADI Open Water course we headed out to Twins and White Rock a little way north west of Koh Tao, and visibility was fantastic with 20 meters crystal clear water. They had the time of their lives – lots of marine life and great colors in the shallow water and could not wait to get into the last two 18 meters dives of the course.
The following morning we got up nice and early and headed out our favorite Koh Tao dive site – the famous ‘Chumphon pinnacles‘. Again the diving was excellent with array of different fishes the guys absolutely loved the experience. So much so they’re going to stick around for a couple more days and take the next step – the PADI Advanced Open Water course.
Well done lads and look forward to teaching your Advance course – ready for the deep dive……..?
