Well done to Curtis, Dane, James all from U.S.A. and Katie from England on passing their PADI Rescue Course here on Koh Tao.
Katie joined us here at Simple Life Divers a couple of weeks ago, first cruising through her PADI Open Water course then going straight into her Advanced Open Water with James.
Then the guys hooked up with Curtis and Dane for their PADI Rescue Diver training, which is when the real fun began 😉
First we got the PADI videos and theory session out of the way, then continued with two solid days in the water practicing all types of scenarios, from panicked divers on the surface to dealing with an unresponsive diver underwater.

But it was the final dive that the guys really got tested. With the help of our new PADI Divemasters Brad and Joe we conducted a session of final scenarios. Brad and Joe played convincing victims acting out a wide range of diving emergency situations, so the team had to be on their toes to save the pair from one problem after another. Missing divers, snorkelers in trouble, underwater searches and egresses to the boat – the group performed well and put what they’d learned over the previous few days into good practice, each qualifying as PADI Rescue Divers.
So the next step for the gang is the PADI Divemaster course…. more Koh Tao diving news updates on their progress to follow.
