PADI Divemaster Internships Testimonial: Davoc

Padi Divemaster internship in Koh Tao Thailand

Name: Davoc Bradley

From: England

Prior to the Divemaster Internship: Travelling around Japan

Life on Koh Tao: I've spent 8 months of my life on Koh Tao in total, split over two seperate occasions, I love Koh Tao as a place. It's amazingly beautiful, amazingly goof fun, filled with amazing people, and amazingly good looking women! AMAZING!

Be cool, don't rub people up the wrong way, enjoy yourself, but don't be an idiot, don't hire a quad bike EVER, be careful when you're riding your bike (you don't want the Koh Tao Tattoo) and finally, go diving with Simple Life!

The Divemaster Training: Leading people was good fun, I really enjoyed being able to show people where cool stuff was, and taking out a big group on someones birthday, finding sharks at chumphon, then seeing the turtle at white rock attacking a jelly fish was pretty amazing for my first solo lead...I was very lucky because the guys I lead were experienced divers, and made it all quite easy for me.

The swim test was fun, we ended up doing it out in the sea, and had to deal with waves and currents. When you do it in Engalnd you do it in a swimming pool, where is the fun in that?
Padi Divemaster ThailandAssisting the instructors in training new students can be hard! You're still learning how to deal with people, and sometimes it's easy to miss something important. The key is to make sure you don't get distracted, and concentrate 100% on the divers you're supposed to be there to help.

The underwater equipment exchange (stress test) was really good fun, enjoyed it a lot. I was lucky because I was already a qualified tech diver when I did my stress test, so it was a lot of fun to do the stress test.
I saw a load of sharks, but never dived with a whale shark unfortunately. One day!

Food and Nightlife: The food is great on koh toa, but you have to chose the right places to eat. Tuktas is my favorite place to eat on Koh Tao, it's brilliant thai food!

The night life is great, you can have any night you want, from a nice relaxed one, through to a crazy one at the castle until silly o'clock in the morning!

I’ve been a few times to the Phangan Full Moon Party. I really enjoy it, best idea is to stay sober and watch the carnage!!

Funny Stories: Every day in Koh Tao is fun!

What Next I design software.

Have dived quite a lot, I've now moved onto diving on a closed circuit reabreather. I've done a lot of diving in the UK, Malta and very deep diving in the gulf of Thailand wreck diving.

It has changed my outlook on life, I know much more clearly that the most important thing in life is to have fun with friends, and on Koh Tao you will always be able to do that.
